WFCPC Welcomes Family Nurse Practitioner Eduardo del Rosario, PhD, FNP
The Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center (WFCPC) is delighted to have Eduardo del Rosario, PhD, FNP join as a nurse practitioner on May 1st.
Dr. del Rosario has over two decades of experience treating people with CP and related disorders. He specializes in lifespan care of individuals with childhood-onset neuromuscular conditions. He joins Columbia from Elizabeth Seton, which provides inpatient long-term care for people with disabilities. Previously, Dr. del Rosario worked at NYU Langone Medical Center, where he implemented their baclofen pump program for the treatment of spasticity and established a program for people transitioning from pediatric to adult care.
“Eduardo brings a wealth of skills and experience to our Center, including spasticity management, perioperative medicine, and lifespan care” said Jason Carmel, MD, PhD, Director of the WFCPC. “His deep knowledge and compassion will be enormously helpful to his patients and his colleagues. We are thrilled he is joining our team.”
Dr. del Rosario completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at California State University followed by a nurse practitioner graduate degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received a PhD in nursing from Molloy University in New York. His scholarship includes articles about intrathecal baclofen, healthcare transitions, and predictors of employment in people with CP.
“I have cared for people with CP and their families from Portland, Oregon to New York City,” says Dr. del Rosario. “It has been a privilege to learn about CP from their point of view. I believe in working together with families, medical professionals, and scientists to improve the health of my patients.”
At the WFCPC, Dr. del Rosario will be providing ongoing care for children and adults with CP. He is available to see patients at the CUIMC Washington Heights campus and ColumbiaDoctors Tarrytown.
