WFCPC Expands Multidisciplinary Care to Westchester at The One

New pediatric and adult clinics improve access to coordinated CP care

March 6, 2026

The Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center (WFCPC) is expanding its multidisciplinary care model to Westchester County with services at The One, NewYork-Presbyterian’s new outpatient facilities in White Plains. The clinics will begin in April 2026.

The expansion will bring specialized cerebral palsy (CP) care closer to families in Westchester and surrounding regions, improving access to coordinated medical services for children and adults living with CP.

At the center of the new clinics is WFCPC’s family nurse practitioner, Eduardo del Rosario, PhD, FNP-BC, who leads the transition and adult CP services for patients on Columbia’s medical campus in Washington Heights.

“Access to coordinated care across the lifespan is essential for people with cerebral palsy,” said Dr. del Rosario. “By bringing our multidisciplinary team to Westchester, we’re making it easier for patients and families to receive the specialized care they need closer to home.”

The Westchester location will feature two dedicated CP clinics serving pediatric and adult patients.

In the pediatric clinic, Dr. del Rosario will work alongside Columbia Primary Care pediatrician, Jacqueline L. Steele, MD, and the WFCPC’s Medical Director, orthopedic surgeon, Joshua E. Hyman, MD. The clinicians will be co-located on the same floor, allowing families to see multiple providers during a single visit when needed.

“Children with cerebral palsy often need input from several specialists,” said Dr. Hyman. “Having the team in one place allows us to coordinate care more easily and helps families avoid multiple visits at different locations.”

The adult clinic will pair Dr. del Rosario with Akin Beckley, MD, a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist who treats adults with CP, including managing pain and spasticity.

Improving Access Through Integrated Care

The One is a 225,000-square-foot outpatient facility located at 1111 Westchester Avenue in White Plains, that brings together over 90 medical specialties and subspecialties from Columbia and NewYork-Presbyterian under one roof.

The facility offers on-site services including radiology, women’s health, and a large physical therapy gym for adult rehabilitation.

Transportation is a well-documented barrier to care for many individuals with mobility concerns. The The One’s accessible design, ample parking, and ability to coordinate multiple appointments in a single visit can help reduce that burden for patients and families.

Growing the Columbia CP Care Network

In the past years, the WFCPC has expanded its multidisciplinary team of clinicians and re-envisioned how and where providers from various disciplines from the Center see patients.

Since 2023, the WFCPC’s collaboration with Columbia Primary Care has helped patients receive closer monitoring and access care closer to home. Dr. Steele joins the CP care team as part of that collaboration. Last year, WFCPC launched a multidisciplinary clinic with Director of Rehabilitation Medicine, Hana Azizi, MD, and Dr. del Rosario co-locating to see adult patients on the same day. The Westchester program expands rehabilitation services for adult patients in upstate locations.

By bringing these services to Westchester, the WFPCPC aim to make specialized CP care more accessible while maintaining the collaborative model that has defined the Center’s work.
