Genetic Causes of Cerebral Palsy

Approximately 25-30 percent of people with CP may have an underlying genetic cause. Identifying a genetic cause for a person’s CP can lead to important changes in how their healthcare is managed. This information can affect treatment decisions, medical management, and access to new therapies. Pediatric Neurologist Jennifer M. Bain, MD, Phd, who leads the WFCPC's genetics program is a guest speaker on this first installment of the "Genetic Causes of Cerebral Palsy" webinar series hosted by the CP Research Network.
