Multidisciplinary Care Team Leaders
The Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center at Columbia University Irving Medical Center serves as a medical home for patients of all ages through integrated, coordinated, and continuous care across the life span by physicians and staff from more than twenty specialties. Below features our care team leaders from some of the most used specailties in the Cerebral Palsy community. The CP Center also offers care coordination services to help you find knowledgeable physicians within the Columbia/NYP system that know how to care for someone with CP.

Belkis Taverez
- Practice Associate
Belkis Taverez, our Practice Associate handles the daily communication responsibilities with patients, helping patients access the services they need.
Belkis began working with the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center since it’s founding in 2012 and has extensive and valuable experience interacting with all our patients and families.
Jennifer Pimentel
- Care and Outreach Cooridinator
Jennifer Pimentel joined the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center in 2021. In her role, she coordinates all aspects of care for patients and acts as representative of the Center, collaborating with other internal departments and with external community-based organizations.
Jennifer's expertise centers around service coordination in Early Intervention Programs, and case management for adults with disabilities.
Kirsten Carlberg
- Research Coordinator
Clinical Research Coordinator, Kirsten Carlberg, MPH holds a Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology with a certificate in Global Public Health. Kirsten has been with the Columbia University Medical Center since 2015 in various research and laboratory related roles.
She joined the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center in 2019 oversees clinical research studies and quality improvement initiatives for the Center
